Introduction to the Future

The future is not far from the present. Every new dawn is a day closer to your future. Every bit of your ‘present’ is a precursor to your future. Whatever you build today attracts the future you see tomorrow, it’s no magic. This is why it is very important to be mindful of the present days, what you do with it, what you make out of it, the values you create from it, and the folks you flock with. All these are pointers to the kind of future you will see.

Never make the mistake of focusing on one or a few areas of your life. Don’t join the bandwagon of those who woke up and discovered that they are already in the tomorrow they spoke about yesterday with complete ignorance of all it takes to live that tomorrow to the fullest.

Hence, ask yourself the following questions:

  • What do I know about my creator?
  • What do I know about life?
  • What do I know about finances?
  • What do I know about marriage?
  • What do I know about building a sustainable home and family life?
  • What do I know about Leadership and Influence?
  • What do I know about Emotional Intelligence?

The list goes on and on but the most important thing is to be able to ascertain that you are prepared for the future ahead. I introduce you to the Future. The future is not as far as you imagine, she’s more than near, and you will soon embrace her. Are you ready for the Future?

Students’ Guide to Building a Brighter Future

A. Engage in Mental Transformation

· Learn new (positive) things every day

· Consume books that equip you with the qualities that prepare you for the future you desire.

· Listen to people that represent what you envision

· Study great men who look like what you are becoming; don’t just admire their greatness, study how they rose.

· Enroll in business classes, attend seminars, go to conferences, attend webinars, learn communication skill, learn people management skill and emotional intelligence

· Learn about Relationship, Marriage, Parenting, Leadership and Excellence, Workplace Ethics, etc

· With all these, you’ll sustain a superior belief system.

No one will entrust you with their lives and properties if you have an inferior mindset

B. Supervise Your Activities

  • Ensure that your activities contribute to your growth and development
  • Never allow in your life whatever that will not add value to you
  • Be sure that all that comes into your life come on purpose.

When the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable — Myles Munroe.

You are what you do often

C. Build Connection of valuable Relationships

· Relationship is the new commodity, valuable ones though.

· Make connection with experts in your field

· Network with like minds

· Be sure to have at least one connection in every sociological system such as government, military, education

· Leverage on People’s Experience

· Be open enough to learn from people’s experience

· Drop your ego and be open to learning from anyone irrespective of their age, gender, race, and color

· Sometimes, personality can hinder you from getting the best out of people, look beyond their personality and sniff out the best you can get from them

· Know that the best of any man (both gender) is still a man

Everything money can buy, a relationship can buy likewise

D. Get Mentorship

  • Get yourself a mentor, not just an icon
  • Submit to someone that can correct, reproof, endorse and recommend you.
  • Get a mentor in every area of your life, such as academics, career, marital, etc
  • Don’t die in silence, find a trustworthy senior fellow whom you can share your burdens with

When you commune with the elders, you will produce the elders’ result

Conclusively, there is more to life beyond academics. Your degree(s) is not enough. Degrees will get you a job but will necessarily not keep you on the job.
